Storage to compensate the intermittency of renewable<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Renewable energies such as wind and PV require electrical storage because they are intermitent or the available energy production is varying with the season. The storage capacity to target sufficient energy coverage of consumers are roughly estimated by monthly balance but the final dimensioning require hourly simulations. These simulations include the modelling of producers and consumers as well as powerplants with the meteorological data as inputs : wind, irradiation, temperature. The optimum dimensioning is based on power and energy exchanged with the storage and other criteria must be taken into account : safety, energy efficiency and return on investment.<\/p>\n

Schematic design phase of a storage project<\/h3>\n
