Philippe Couty

(CEO)

After a master degree in physics and fluids mechanics, Philippe Couty started a PhD in 1997 in the field of cavitation prediction in pumps and turbines at EPFL. In 2004, he Co-founded Karmic Sarl and developed nanotechnologies applications. He then decided to join the photovoltaic adventure in 2007 with the company Flexcell VHF-technologies, with mission to increase cell’s efficiency of flexible solar panels with nano-technologies. He managed engineering and technology transfer projects with the installation and commissioning of industrial equipment. In collaboration with intern and extern R&D teams (Innosuisse and Work package leader demonstrator EU project FP7 Siliconlight), he launched new products after the validation and certification phases. In 2012, as the R&D director of solar company SES in Geneva, he developed photovoltaic tiles. In the domain of IT for energy, in collaboration with the IT compagny Smarsys, philippe developed a monitoring platform for renewable ernergy and building. The platform SMARSolar is today distributed by Smarsys. From 2014 to 2017, he was the engineering lead of the Swiss living challenge who won the DOE Solar Decathlon competition US 2017 Denver Colorado. Since 2017, philippe is a technical consultant  for the industry and the building sector developing cleantech technologies.
