Swiss living challenge – Neighborhub
The NeighborHub is a neighborhood house and is also a real stand-alone building demonstrator. It has low energy consumption thanks to a passive strategy and 10 kWp of solar panels installed on the facade on fixed and mobile elements. For their excellent integration into the architecture, it also has some Grätzel cells.
Philippe Couty and Antoine Maltey were involved in the team which worked on the optimization of the sizing and behavior of the energy storage system. The software infrastructure of SmarSys and SmarSOLAR has been deployed to establish a precise producible and to compare consumption charges with production periods in order to optimize the whole. The solar power generation forecasting system also operates in real time to detect an abnormal drop in generation and to control loads.
